Argie Karakalpakidis is a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist and Feeding Specialist with over eight years of experience supporting infants, children, and their families. She is the founder of Kids Feeding Wellness, based in Queens, New York, where she serves families locally and around the world through virtual and in-home care.

Families often arrive at her work feeling overwhelmed, unsure of what’s normal, and worn down by mealtimes that no longer feel peaceful. Argie supports families across the full feeding journey—from bottle feeding, to the transition to solids, to picky eating—using a parent-led, child-centered approach that prioritizes understanding over pressure. Through clear explanations and practical guidance, she helps caregivers regain confidence so mealtimes can return to a place of connection rather than conflict.

Her work is grounded in evidence-based practice and shaped by a deep respect for how children learn to eat. Argie believes that when families understand the why behind feeding challenges, progress becomes possible without force—and children are free to build a positive, lasting relationship with food at their own pace.

Above all, Argie believes the dinner table is more than a place to eat. It is where connection is nurtured, culture is shared, and family identity takes shape. By guiding families with empathy and clarity, she helps protect this space—so mealtimes can feel truly nourishing, not just for the body, but for relationships as well.

  • Argie Pitsakis brings extensive clinical experience supporting children with a wide range of feeding and developmental challenges. Her work includes guiding families through pediatric feeding disorders, extreme picky eating, and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), as well as feeding difficulties connected to sensory processing differences and autism spectrum disorders. She has specialized expertise in addressing oral motor and swallowing challenges, including difficulties related to speech, feeding coordination, tongue thrust, drooling, and oral sensory defensiveness.

Argie also supports families navigating complex feeding needs related to breast and bottle feeding, NG and G-tube weaning, and feeding challenges associated with premature birth and other complex medical conditions, including cleft lip and palate, cerebral palsy, brain injury, chromosomal differences, and genetic syndromes. Her work frequently addresses orofacial development concerns, such as mouth breathing, high and narrow palates, underdeveloped jaws, tethered oral tissues (commonly referred to as tongue-tie), and their relationship to feeding, sleep-disordered breathing, and overall development.

Across all stages—from early intervention through the school-age years—Argie’s approach centers on the relationship between the child and their caregivers. She places strong emphasis on parent–child feeding dynamics, responsive feeding practices, and developmentally informed care that honors cultural identity, family values, and the many pathways through which children learn to eat. By integrating medical understanding with practical, compassionate support, Argie helps families move forward with clarity, confidence, and respect for their child’s unique needs.
